Job Summary
The role is responsible for ensuring that the monthly financials for Social business are free from material error, whilst being supported by efficient and robust processes. Reporting to the Controller, the Sr. Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting operations for the Social business and ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with U.S. GAAP, while providing inspirational leadership to a team of managers and staff accountants. This role will ensure that this line of business has the systems and procedures in place to support effective internal controls and deliver timely and accurate reporting. The role requires an individual with the mentality for continuous improvement to processes and ways of working. He/she should also have the desire to fully understand the financials and be a value added partner to its Finance and Operations customers.
Essential Job Functions
·        Manage the month-end close accounting process and accounts for the Social line of business with accuracy and in adherence to the Group timetable
·        Responsible for financial statements of the stand-alone Social business in accordance with U.S. GAAP requirements
·        Preparation of reporting packs for review by Controller
·        Assist with optimization and standardization of month end processes
·        Ensure that all reporting is reconciled to the underlying systems and completion of relevant balance sheet account reconciliations
·        Partner with financial analysis group to assist with reporting, budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting and reconciling actual results to forecasts and budgets
·        Partner with the tax function in order to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance
·        Partner with the treasury function to effectively manage cash
·        Liaise with external tax preparers and Group Finance to ensure that federal & state income tax returns are filed timely and accurately
·        Continually improve operational efficiency while ensuring adequate internal controls are in place
·        Coordinate preparation and completion of local statutory audits, internal audits, communicating directly with auditors
·        Partner with the global financial reporting staff to ensure timely reporting of the consolidated units’ financials and assist in the preparation of other financial statements and reports
·        Develop and build a high performing team through effective team meetings and communications
·        Set and monitor objectives and longer term goals in line with Business/Overall Company initiatives & requirements
·        Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international accounting principles for all assigned entities and propose changes to process necessary to comply with changes in the international environment
·        Ensure best practice processes and policies are enforced and constantly challenged
·        Ensure integrity of financial data and compliance to internal controls
·        Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
·        Fulfill any other ad hoc responsibilities as directed by the Controller or CFO

Experience & Skills
·        Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and CPA are required
·        8+ years experience in accounting required, with at least 4 years in a management/leadership role
·        2- 3 yrs public accounting experience strongly preferred
·        Exceptional accounting and analytical skills, through knowledge of U.S. GAAP requirements
·        Excellent people skills enabling continued support, motivation and development of the team in a dynamic, fast moving environment
·        Demonstrated ability to work with senior management to effect positive change
·        Demonstrated ability to focus on procedure and process change
·        Experience with Hyperion, Oracle, Business Objects or other reporting tools
·        Excellent oral and written presentation skills
·        Thorough knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements
